Girl Scouts is the preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls – all girls – where in an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character and skills for success in the real world. The safe, all-girl environment increases campers' comfort level, encourages girls to try new skills, and allows girls to test their abilities without the pressure and competitiveness that frequently characterize co-ed camps. Girl Scouts of Rhode Island, Inc., operates both day and resident (overnight) programs. Day camps include Camp Cookie, Camp Promising Acres, Camp Rocky Farm and Camp Green Forest. Camp Hoffman is our resident camp. American Camp Association Girl Scouts of Rhode Island is a member of the American Camp Association. Prerequisites: All staff must be at least 18 by the beginning of camp. In addition, all staff are expected to contribute to the camp community through program and service.
