Girl Training

GO FOR GOLD/STRIVE FOR SILVER
Purpose: These classes will focus on the current requirements for the Gold and Silver Award.  Please register if prepared to write a Gold or Silver award proposal during the 2009/2010 year.  Work on the award must be completed, including the final report, by September 30, 2011.  Please note that both girls and adult leaders may register for this workshop.  When registering, please indicate whether you are pursuing the Gold Award or the Silver Award.

In the fall of 2009, award requirements were updated. A workshop for the NEW Gold and Silver award requirements will be held as follows:

PROGRAM AIDE - FOR GIRLS
PurposeComplete the Program Aide Training course and learn how to select, plan and present age-appropriate activities to younger girls. Develop leadership skills and use your training to serve in a leadership capacity to meet the requirements of the Silver or Gold Leadership award.

Prerequisite: 7th to 9th Grades

Fee:   $10.00 per girl (for manual and pin)

LEADER-IN-TRAINING I

LEADER-IN-TRAINING II
Purpose:  Upon completion, a girl will be able to organize and run (with standard adult supervision) troop/group outdoor program, including troop/group camp.

Prerequisite:  Girls must be in Grade 10 or higher, have completed Leader-in-Training I, have camp experience (troop, day or resident) and be familiar with outdoor skills

Fee:   $20 (for overnight food and lodging)
