Become a Girl Scout!

GSRI - DiscoverGirl Scouts discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together, and you can be a part of it! It's about learning new skills and developing new interests. It's about having fun and making new friends. Within the family of Girl Scouts, you discover your personal best; connect with others, locally and globally; and take action to improve the lives of people within your community.

Many Ways to Be a Girl Scout

A girl can be a Girl Scout in many different ways. You can:

  • Register individually and get regular updates by mail on council-wide events and opportunities.
  • Sign up for Girl Scout Camp. GSRI offers day and resident camping opportunities for girls.
  • Join a short-term interest group. Sessions may focus on careers, engineering, sports, theater, and money management, just to name a few!
  • Join a troop/group with a group of girls and a couple of adults in your area
  • Attend an urban program after school, at a community center or childcare agency. GSRI has developed many strong partnerships with non-profit organizations to provide the Girl Scouting Leadership Experience to girls in urban neighborhoods.
  • Whether you're a girl who wants to be in a traditional troop or a college student working on a community service project, there's something for you in Girl Scouts. The possibilities are endless!

Membership

All members:

  • Share the Girl Scout Promise and Law
  • Follow safety guidelines
  • Pay annual membership dues of $12. Dues enable girls to enjoy every aspect of the Girl Scout program. Additional fees for individual events may apply.
  • Girl Scouts may also choose to purchase uniforms, insignia, and books to enhance their Girl Scouting experience.
